How do i become more like you? i love drawing or at least i tell myself that, and still i lack the self-discipline to make all those studies i know i gotta do, i really wanna improve and i always find myself dragging me down when doing so
Firstly, I would set my sights WAY HIGHER than trying to be like some basically unknown bumfuk internet fanartist. As for disciplined studies, realize that willpower is a finite source that will eventually be exhausted. You can only FORCE yourself for so long, and it will end up showing in your work. Try using any/every thought trick you can to get yourself open to the idea of drawing - ANYTHING. Marinate yourself in work that you admire - copy it. Make shitty drawings. Make a TON of shitty drawings. You don’t have to show anyone - this is just for YOU. Draw fanart of what you like, draw porn if you must. Read books about art technique, and sometimes, don’t make art at all. Just like fitness - you can’t go 100% all the time or you’ll end up burning out and stalling. Try to relax into it, and don’t sweat the technique until you WANT to.
Hope that helps…
to me this is the best kind of advice you can give an artist. i used to get really presumptuous and HOPPED UP ON THE GRIND when i first started seriously studying and lived in a weird state of constant self-loathing and guilt because i never felt like i was doing enough and felt really weak for getting tired or bored trying to meet what i thought were reasonable productivity standards. willpower alone isn’t permanent and motivation is actually really important, but instead of waiting around for life to get you motivated, i think it’s important to seek and build motivation on your own, ie “using any/every thought trick you can to get yourself open to the idea of drawing”. and then CAPITALIZE on that shit, as soon as you get an idea of something you want to draw, draw it. just my two cents though
some recent skullgirls assignments — my last animation on big band and my first animation on eliza!
i’m really liking work on eliza, she’s a really trippy character with all of the bizarre things she can do with her blood. makes for really interesting motions and lets me have some fun with effects~
AWW YEA! It’s Dangerous To Go Alone broke 1 million views and 50k likes today! Thank you guys for watching, above all else we’re really grateful for all the awesome feedback we’ve gotten on the cartoon so far. We’re really glad you like the video, and we’ll push hard to make our next content even better.
If you haven’t seen the cartoon yet, check it out here!
sidenote, this is also one of my shots, although there’s just lipsync on this one. this is one of my favorite backgrounds joel painted though.
more old man singing. i did most of the animation in this chorus (except for those really cute mock sprites that Junkpuyo animated in the shot afterwards!!). i mustve subconsciously liked this part of the video the most. probably because, again, freddie mercury reference
"yes, i can’t lie"
this chorus was supposed to be kinda queen-flavored and the old man was a bit of a tribute to freddie here. joel’s background makes this shot 10000000x cooler
one of the shots i did for the cartoon that came out yesterday, i named this shot the V.P.T. (vaati pelvic thrust) during production
fun fact: out of all of my shots on this cartoon, i worked on this one oddly the longest but it has the least screentime ;_;
martini-wielding ghirahim animated by the magnificent Audrey Kare~

woooo it’s finally out! i had a ton of fun working on this with joel and the rest of the team from the very beginning. it’s been intense with an awesome payoff.
aside from school, this is what i’ve been doing lately — i was an animator/animation director on the vid, i think i might post some of my shots on here later. overall this project had a lot of heart and soul put in, i hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!!

(NSFW) New cartoon directed, boarded and roughed out by Egoraptor for the magical musical ensemble STAR BOMB! We worked hard on this one providing animation processes and backgrounds, so we’re thrilled that it’s out. More on the way!
Check their album out, too.
worked on this. really glad to have it out — interestingly enough, it’s most likely the highest volume of work we’ve done for a cartoon currently out on youtube and it spans over 2 minutes and 30 seconds of lightning-fast changing cuts. yotta provided a mix of animation, inbetweens and cleanup, as well as the backgrounds. we actually rotated animators quite a bit on this one (hence why there’s like 7 of us in the credits), so i want to thank/highlight some people.
thanks Audrey, Bam and Paul for letting me bring you onboard this as we needed to switch animators around over time! you all did super well with your shots and did awesomely with working fast when it was needed.
thanks Chris and Brandon for sticking through the project through its entire length and making such solid pieces~
thanks Joel for doing so much on the project between animating and providing superlative backgrounds!
and of course, thanks Arin for involving us in this project to begin with! we had a blast~
i’m really proud of how yotta’s grown in the last year and the people i’ve met and had a chance to work with. i’m looking forward to growing it further and moving forward into the new year!
one of the filia tests i sent in. this one is a lot older and lacks the followthrough i put into later tests but i still put a lot of time into making it clean, so i figured i’d post it
one of the squigly rough animations i did for Skullgirls, posted with permission. it’s a two-action move, her double hard punch! also the first animation i did on squigly.
